Design Report & Material List

Design Concept

This design anchors your eclectic collection with a warm, earthy palette—cream, olive, terracotta, and black—so every piece feels chosen rather than accumulated. Layered lighting and a clearer gallery wall hierarchy create visual rest while preserving the cozy, creative energy that makes the space yours.

Key Decisions

  • Unified color threading: Repeated olive cushions, terracotta accents, and black metal frames tie disparate pieces together without replacing favorites like the hanging chair or leather accent chair.
  • Asymmetrical gallery wall with breathing room: Art is grouped in a looser, intentional cluster with consistent spacing; the large green abstract anchors the TV side while smaller pieces fill in organically.
  • Three-zone lighting: Track spots for tasks, table lamps for evening warmth, and shelf LEDs for depth—no harsh overhead reliance.
  • Open circulation path: Coffee table sits 18" from sofa edge; hanging chair rotates toward the room, not blocking the balcony door flow.

Styling Tip

Keep the "collected" feeling by editing, not adding: remove one small item for every new piece introduced, and vary frame finishes (wood, black, brass) while keeping mat widths consistent. The gallery wall reads as curated when spacing stays 2-3" between all edges.
