Design Report & Material List
## Design Concept
A layered transitional living space anchored by two complementary rugs that define zones without walls—warm woods and soft textiles balance the existing white sectional and dark flooring for everyday comfort.
## Key Decisions
- **Dual-rug zoning**: The large 9x12 living rug with vintage floral border and smaller 6' round dining rug share a muted teal-blush palette; different scales prevent matchy-matchy rigidity while unifying the open floor plan.
- **Low-profile round coffee table**: Keeps sight lines open across the sectional and allows easy movement between kitchen, dining, and living areas.
- **Forest landscape art**: Replaces busy abstracts with a single calming horizon line that echoes the teal accents and grounds the seating area.
- **Fiddle leaf fig in ceramic planter**: Adds vertical interest in an empty corner without blocking window light or traffic flow.

## Sizing Note
The living rug extends 18" beyond the sectional's front edge—this proportion works for the 10' ceiling height and keeps front legs of the chaise on the rug. If your sectional depth differs, adjust to 8x10 minimum to avoid floating furniture.
