The design intent is to reclaim the floor as usable living space rather than mere passage. The midcentury loveseat and credenza echo the rug's warm palette, while layered lighting—globe chandelier, sconces, and table lamp—creates evening depth in a space that risks feeling like a corridor. The result is a cohesive 1960s-inspired sitting area that reads as intentional, not transitional.
Key Decisions
- Oversized geometric rug — defines the living zone and visually absorbs the doorway's architectural weight, making the entry feel like a backdrop rather than an interruption.
- Low-profile loveseat with exposed wood frame — maintains sightlines through the narrow room; the compact scale suits the 2-seat requirement without crowding the circulation path.

Implementation Note
