Design Report & Material List

Design Concept

Soft sheer panels in pale dusty blue-gray create a cohesive color story with the existing rug while filtering natural light. The restrained palette—limited to two new pillow accents—keeps the transitional foundation intact without visual clutter.

Key Decisions

  • High-wide rod placement (8-12" above frames, 6-12" beyond edges) visually enlarges both openings and draws the eye upward
  • Sheer linen-look weave maintains the room's airy brightness; fabric reads as texture, not color, from a distance
  • Matte black rods echo the coffee table and dining chair legs for quiet consistency
  • Limited accent pillows (2-3 total) prevent competition with the patterned rug and existing neutral throw pillows

Sizing Note

For the sliding door: two 54"W panels per side (108" total width) give proper fullness. For the window: two 52"W panels. Always round up to the next standard length—96" rods hung at 93" height clear the floor by 1-2 inches for the intended float.
