Design Report & Material List

Design Concept

This living room layers warm, earthy tones—forest green, rust orange, and cream—into a collected, lived-in eclectic space. The mix of vintage-style portraits, botanical prints, and handcrafted macramé creates visual depth without clutter, while brass and gold accents add subtle polish against the moody, cozy atmosphere.

Key Decisions

  • Curated gallery wall above the sofa balances a classical portrait with bold color and delicate botanicals, anchoring the seating area and drawing the eye upward.
  • Brass swing-arm sconces flank the macramé hanging, adding warm ambient light and freeing side tables for daily use.
  • Patterned kilim and geometric cushions tie the green sofa and orange chairs together, repeating rust, cream, and black for cohesion.
  • Fiddle leaf fig in the corner fills vertical space behind the orange chair, softening the transition between furniture and architecture.

Styling Tip

Keep the coffee table functional: stack 2-3 books with a small object on top, and rotate the dried stems seasonally. The goal is "curated but used"—not museum-perfect.
