## Design Concept
This design layers warm, organic textures over a clean modern foundation to create a relaxed, breathable living space. The low-profile sofa floats slightly forward to honor the wall furnace clearance while grounding the seating area with a properly scaled rug that unifies fireplace and TV zones.

- **Floating sofa placement** keeps safe 12-18" clearance from the wall furnace per safety codes, improves traffic flow, and creates a more intimate conversational zone.
- **Low-profile modular sofa** in warm greige with deep seats prioritizes lounging comfort without visually crowding the 8-ft ceiling height.
- **Layered lighting** combines the existing ceiling fan with a sculptural floor lamp and table lamp for evening warmth, eliminating harsh overhead-only lighting.
- **Natural material mix** of oak, rattan, linen, and matte ceramics adds tactile warmth that softens the modern lines without clutter.

## Sizing Note
The 8x10 rug placement leaves 18-24" of wood floor exposed on all sides, which visually expands the room while keeping front sofa legs on the rug for stability. If the wall furnace requires more clearance, scale to a 7x9 rug and maintain 6" minimum distance from sofa back to wall.
