Key Decisions
- Compact loveseat centered on the rug anchors the 8x8 zone without blocking sightlines over the sofa, maintaining the open flow you requested while offering genuine seating for one to two people
- Dual lighting scheme (floor lamp + table lamp) eliminates dark corners for evening reading and lets you adjust mood without overhead glare
- Cream shag rug adds underfoot warmth that contrasts the dark wood floors and visually contains the seating area without heavy visual weight
- Restrained bookshelf styling leaves breathing room between books and objects so the wall feels collected, not chaotic
