Key Decisions
- Restrained wood palette: Shifted garage doors, porch posts, and gable brackets to a deeper walnut tone that reads intentional rather than rustic, creating cohesion with the black siding without competing for attention
- Layered lighting: String lights over the porch plus sconces and path lanterns extend usable hours and create welcoming depth after sunset
- Soft-hard contrast: White hydrangea masses and ornamental grasses against dark stone and siding provide seasonal color without high maintenance
- Defined outdoor room: The dining zone with cantilever umbrella and standalone fireplace creates a second living space separate from the entry porch
