## Design Concept
This bedroom layers warm, earthy mid-century tones—olive, rust, taupe, and charcoal—to create a grounded, lived-in retreat. The design balances clean-lined furniture with textural softness, using pattern and material variation to add depth without visual clutter.
## Key Decisions
- **Rug scale and placement**: The 8x10 vintage-style geometric rug extends well beyond the bed, visually connecting the sleeping and dressing zones and eliminating the "floating bed" effect common in smaller rooms.
- **Curtain height and weight**: Floor-length blackout panels hung at ceiling height elongate the sloped walls and add acoustic softness, while the deep taupe tone absorbs light for better sleep.
- **Mixed wood tones**: Walnut bench, teak-look nightstand bases, and the terracotta accent piece create intentional warmth against the neutral upholstered bed—avoiding matchy furniture sets feels more collected and personal.
- **Layered lighting**: The sputnik chandelier provides ambient light, while warm-toned bedside lamps with linen shades offer dimmable wind-down lighting without overhead glare.
