Design Report & Material List

Design Concept

A calm, focused workspace integrated into a compact sleeping zone using clean vertical lines and controlled lighting to separate rest from study mentally. The restrained palette and closed storage keep visual noise low for sustained concentration.

Key Decisions

  • Desk flipped to wall-facing position — eliminates corridor distraction and creates a defined "study nook" against the plain back wall.
  • Under-desk cable tray + wireless peripherals — removes cord spaghetti from sightlines; the single task lamp provides adequate illumination without competing overhead glare.
  • Slim vertical file cabinet — replaces open shelving, hiding papers and supplies within arm's reach while maintaining floor clearance.
  • Neutral layered textiles — the low-pile rug and blackout curtain soften acoustics and light for better sleep quality after study sessions.
