Botanical-wrapped storage wall
The central challenge was transforming a narrow, transitional corner into a memorable, functional entry that handles daily clutter. The design intent pairs maximalist pattern with disciplined storage: one wall becomes a floral focal point while the opposite wall hosts a clean-lined credenza for concealed and open organization. The result is a mudroom that reads as decorated, not messy—where hats, bags, and outerwear hang on display against wallpaper, and the remaining visual field stays calm enough for a mirror and task lighting. Constraints included preserving the existing door, mini-split location, and wall layout; the solution works entirely within those fixed elements through surface finishes and movable pieces.

- Floral wallpaper on one full wall — concentrates pattern impact, defines the room's personality, and avoids visual competition with the storage furniture.
- Woven rattan pendant centered over the traffic path — adds texture, warmth, and scale at a low cost without ceiling modification.
- Two-tone credenza with mixed closed/open storage — blue drawer fronts hide clutter while cubbies keep everyday shoes and bins accessible.
- Scalloped gilt mirror above the console — bounces window light, expands perceived depth, and echoes the wallpaper's vintage tone.

Implementation Note
The mini-split and exposed conduit on the mirror wall cannot be relocated in a soft renovation; confirm your credenza height leaves 6–8 inches of clearance below the lowest pipe or valve to avoid airflow obstruction and allow filter access. A standard 30-inch-tall console typically clears residential mini-splits mounted at 7 feet, but measure your exact unit before ordering furniture.
