Design Report & Material List

Design Concept

This transitional guest bathroom balances warmth and simplicity through natural materials and soft, layered lighting. The design keeps all fixed plumbing in place while elevating the space with a stone vessel sink as the visual anchor and warm wood tones that prevent the neutral palette from feeling sterile.

Key Decisions

  • Retained footprint + vessel focal point: Keeping the tub, toilet, and vanity locations avoids costly plumbing moves; the stone vessel sink adds personality without requiring structural changes.
  • Warm layered lighting: The wall sconce provides flattering, shadow-free task lighting at the mirror, while the window maintains natural brightness—no gray or dim cave effect.
  • Large-format neutral tile: Light stone-look floor tile and warm off-white wall tile expand the room visually, resist moisture, and stay easy to clean.
  • Furniture-style vanity: The wood cabinet with toe kick grounds the space, offers generous storage, and pairs naturally with the wood window trim for cohesion.
