Design Concept
A warm transitional living room built on layered neutrals—oatmeal, taupe, and muted terracotta—with brass accents that catch the tray ceiling's architecture. The design prioritizes circulation and calm through cohesive soft furnishings and scaled, intimate lighting.
Key Decisions
- Rug rescaling: The 8x10 low-pile rug in warm ivory-terracotta grounds the seating group with front legs on, creating visual cohesion without competing with the hardwood.
- Fixture proportion: Swapped to a 28" warm-brass chandelier with fabric shades—wide enough for the tray ceiling, soft enough for evening conversation.
- Curtain restraint: Oatmeal linen-look panels frame the windows without bulk, hung high to extend perceived height.
- Seating edit: Removed the obstructing front-left chair; kept clear pathways from both openings for natural flow.

Sizing Note
