Design Concept
This living room prioritizes clean sightlines and unobstructed movement by anchoring a single streamlined sofa to the perimeter. The restrained palette of warm neutrals and matte finishes creates visual calm while the fluted wall provides all necessary texture.
Key Decisions
- Wall-hugging recliner placement keeps the floor plane completely open, eliminating the cramped feeling of centered seating and preserving the room's natural circulation path toward the entry and window.
- Flush-mount ceiling light replaces visual weight with a low-profile disk that spreads even ambient light without competing with the textured ceiling or crown molding.
- Warm-white curtains soften the glass door's grid lines and filter daylight more gracefully than vertical blinds, adding vertical softness where hard surfaces dominate.
- Negative space as feature — leaving the window and entry zones deliberately empty lets the fluted wall and floating console read as intentional architecture rather than backdrop.
