Remodel Cost Calculator

Turn measured work items and quotes into a room-level budget. Every quantity and price is editable, so the estimate stays tied to your project instead of an invented local average.

Enter your own quote or product prices. The tool does not use regional averages.

How the remodel estimate works

Each line total is quantity × unit price. Material and labor are separate columns, then the tool adds your chosen contingency to the subtotal. Enter a contractor quote as a line item when you have one; do not mix a quote with the same work measured again.

Why there is no universal room price

Labor rates, permits, demolition, access, location, product grade and hidden conditions change a remodel cost. This tool does not pretend to know those values. Use supplier prices and written quotes for your project, and keep unknown items visible.

What the estimate excludes

Unless you add them as line items, totals do not include tax, permits, design fees, delivery, disposal, structural repairs or financing. A design preview can help compare appearance; it cannot validate quantities, code or a contractor quote.

Frequently asked questions

Does this give a local renovation price?

No. It calculates the quantities and prices you enter. Local labor, permits and hidden conditions require current supplier or contractor information.

Can I estimate a kitchen or bathroom?

Yes. Add measured work items such as cabinets, tile, fixtures, paint, demolition and labor. Keep each item separate so you can replace a quote without hiding assumptions.

What contingency should I use?

Choose a percentage that matches your project risk and advice from your contractor. The default is only an editable planning allowance, not a guarantee.

Method and rule notes

Each line is quantity multiplied by the entered material and labor unit prices. The contingency percentage is applied to the subtotal. No regional price database is used.
