Design Concept
This living room layers warm, collected pieces around a calm, grounded foundation. The new rug and coffee table create softer circulation and visual flow while honoring the existing eclectic mix of vintage finds and personal treasures.
Key Decisions
- Rug scale and placement: The 8×10 ft vintage-style rug now anchors both the sofa and orange chair, unifying the seating group and protecting the wood floor from daily wear.
- Curved coffee table: The oval walnut shape eliminates sharp corners for safer, easier movement while echoing the organic lines of the macrame and plants.
- Round wall accent: Replacing the small rectangular piece with a warm wood round frame introduces rhythm and breaks up the room's linear geometry.
- Preserved layering: Keeping the existing shelving, lighting, and collected objects maintains the room's lived-in personality without adding visual noise.
