Design Concept
Backlit Tile Grid with Floating Console
The room's blank wall and raw floor created a staging problem: the TV risked reading as an appliance rather than an anchor. The solution builds a dimensional tile field with recessed warm LED channels and black trim lines, then suspends a low-profile console to maintain floor continuity. This preserves the open footprint, reflects light across the polished floor, and turns the screen into curated architecture. The gold hardware punctuates without competing. Everything shown is surface-mounted or furniture-based, so the design travels if the homeowner moves.
Key Decisions
- Floating console with push-latch and gold-pull drawers — keeps the floor plane visually open while concealing routers, remotes, and gaming gear.
- Recessed perimeter and grid LED strips — creates depth after dark, eliminates the need for overhead lighting during viewing, and traces the tile joints to emphasize the grid logic.
- Black metal trim channels — breaks the beige field into proportions that feel intentional, not monolithic, and echoes the window frame for cohesion.
- Large-format matte tiles with subtle veining — reads as stone at a distance, stays clean under shifting light, and installs over existing wall surfaces.

Budget Snapshot

Implementation Note
The LED transformer and any outlet splitters must fit inside the console cavity or a nearby access panel; confirm the console interior height before ordering strips, as shallow drawers will force an external transformer box that breaks the clean line.
